Creative wedding favours with small glass bottles

Posted by The Wares Team on 12th Aug 2022

It's wedding season again and we love seeing what our customers are planning for their big day! Whether you are planning a summer wedding, a big family get-together, a garden party or some other kind of special occasion, it's always rewarding to make your own favours - and it saves a lot of money too. We always see a big spike in sales of small glass bottles once we reach this time of year so we stock up to make sure we have plenty available.

So what kinds of things can you use miniature bottles to make and gift? Here are some suggestions to get that creativity flowing!

Wedding favour ideas with miniature bottles

Personalised miniature wine bottles
You could link up with a local wine producer or brewery to commission your own special drinks for your occasion. By buying directly from the producer, you can get better prices for bulk orders and make your own personalised wine labels to commemorate your special day. These are fun gifts for a wedding table and a great way to say thank you to guests.

An indulgent treat
Fill a Mason jar with hot chocolate powder, top with colourful marshmallows and tie a miniature glass bottle of Bailey's to it with raffia or ribbon. Voila - all of the ingredients for a decadent drink!

Cocktail mixers
You can take the same approach with other drink variations to create fun cocktail mixers. Buy original glass bottles of coke and tie a miniature bottle of vodka to the side for a ready-made drink, or fill Mason jars with homemade lemonade and add a side bottle of pink gin - which you can make yourself by steeping raspberries in gin for a few weeks before straining and pouring.

A summer snow globe
Snow globes aren't just for Christmas! Use a glue gun to stick a cute little polymer clay character to the underside of your screwtop bottle lid, or any motif that strikes your fancy. Plastic summer figurines work well too and you could even pick fun-themed mini toys for kids. Sprinkle coloured glitter into the mini bottle, add water and screw the lid on securely. Upturn the bottle and you'll see a cute little snow globe effect that makes a fun gift.

Wildflower seeds
For a nature-themed event, fill mini glass bottles with wildflower seed mixes, decorate the bottles with ribbons and add a floral-inspired tag with a personalised message. Kids will love shaking out their seeds to grow and this is a great eco-friendly gift or favour that also works well for party bags.

Natural confetti
What better choice for your eco-wedding than dried rose petals stored in miniature glass bottles as ready shakers! You can also use coloured rice which looks very pretty in bottles.

Jewel-coloured spirits
Nothing looks prettier than homemade raspberry gin, limoncello and orange liqueur and it's so easy to make your own with vodka or gin, extra sugar and fresh juice. Make a batch of colourful spirits and place them all together in a bowl or against white linen tablecloths for a sparkling, colourful accessory that will dress your event table beautifully. If your guests don't drink alcohol, then do the same thing with colourful homemade cordials or even homemade bath salts.

Homemade beauty products
You can easily make your own beautifully-scented bath oil with natural plant-based oil and essential oils - or a natural body lotion with shea butter, glycerin, essential oils and other natural treats. There are plenty of recipes online to discover and these work perfectly when decanted into miniature glass bottles as a wedding favour and presented with a ribbon.

Kitchen condiments
Whether your guests are more likely to love a mini bottle of vanilla sugar or a bottle of fiery homemade BBQ rub, you can have fun making your own flavoured condiments which make great wedding favours. Personalise them with tags and create a talking point at your wedding table.
