Ideas for using miniature wine bottles:

For weddings
These tiny bottles are perfect for creating favours. Why not fill them with bright limoncello for a colourful spring wedding? Or a sample of delicious rose wine for those pink and pastel-shaded Easter events? Limoncello is actually easy to make yourself, and the resulting effect will be a perfect blend of sharp and sweet, without any additives or chemicals.

Make your own limoncello
Pare the zest from five unwaxed lemons and be careful not to let any white pith into your large and clean bowl. Pour over a litre of vodka and cover the mix with a lid before you leave it for a week. Shake the jar gently each day. This process will encourage the natural lemon flavour from the zest to infuse into the vodka. After a week, take 750g of caster sugar and pour it over 700ml of boiling water, stirring it carefully to dissolve. Add the lemon peels and vodka and leave for another week, repeating the daily shaking process. The finished result will be beautifully fresh, zesty and lemon-coloured. Simply decant your limoncello into each miniature wine bottle and decorate it with ribbons, raffia, perhaps a little extra zest and anything which takes your fancy. These would look lovely at a place setting for a formal dinner.

Make a tasting trio
If you felt ambitious you could also group miniature wine bottles into a gift bag or box and use them to present a trio of drinks. If spring pastels appeal, then try a crisp white wine, a bright pink rose and perhaps an accompanying bottle of homemade raspberry gin for bright and cheerful shades that will represent the season perfectly. Or opt for a luxurious trio of dessert-themed cocktails and gins; perhaps an Irish cream, a chocolate liqueur and a bottle of this beautiful cinnamon bun gin, which is perfectly spiced and reminiscent of a Hot Cross bun.

Cinnamon bun gin
Put a long and broken cinnamon stick into a large Kilner jar with five crushed cardamom pods, half a teaspoon of vanilla extract and 75g of caster sugar before pouring over 350ml of gin. Store the mix in a dark, cool place for a week or more and swirl the jar gently every couple of days to encourage the sugar to dissolve. When you're ready to decant this Scandinavian-inspired blend into your miniature glass bottle, strain it through a muslin lined sieve. To decant it into your bottles, try using a funnel to minimise splashes and waste.

Make rainbow bath salts
For events with younger guests or people who prefer non-alcoholic treats, why not have some fun making rainbow bath salts and using these to fill miniature wine bottles? These would make a great travel gift or perhaps something lovely to use 'the morning after' for guests enjoying a wedding or party event.

They are really easy to make! Just get a cup of Epsom salt, a cup of coarse sea salt and a touch of baking soda. Place the mix into a Mason jar and then decant it into smaller bowls for mixing, or a ziplock bag. To each, add different food colourings to create beautiful colours. You can also add essential oils for fragrance. Peppermint essential oil, lavender, orange and lemon would be beautiful! Use the coloured salts and your funnel to fill your miniature wine bottles, either by creating a colourful trio or by layering different colours for a rainbow effect.
