Our 70mm twist off replacement lids are designed for larger preserving jars and food storage containers. Whether you're producing preserves commercially or preserving at home, these quality metal lids provide a secure and reliable closure.

Available in a variety of colours and finishes, all 70mm lids feature a heat-sealable, vinegar-proof lining and are suitable for a wide range of food applications.

Standard & Button Safety Lids

Our twist off lids are available in both standard and button safety styles, depending on the colour and finish selected.

Standard lids provide the same reliable airtight seal and are ideal for everyday preserving, storage and commercial food production.

Button safety lids include a raised button in the centre that acts as a visual vacuum indicator. During heat processing and cooling, the vacuum created inside the jar draws the button down. Once sealed correctly, the button remains depressed until the jar is opened, providing reassurance that an airtight seal has been achieved.

Both styles are heat-sealable, vinegar-proof, FSA approved and BPA free.

Helpful hand application tips

These lids can be applied by machine but they can also be hand applied. Please follow these care tips for successful application. For more in-depth information please read our blog post on lids.

• Take care not to over tighten, a quarter of a turn will seal the lid.

• Check the lid is not cross threaded.

• Warmed lids work best, they can be heated to a maximum of 60°C

• Apply the cap finger tight and then apply pressure for 1/4 of a turn. 

• When filling the jar leave approximately 10mm (5%) space from the rim in order to create the best vacuum and seal.
