History of Kilner Jars, Kilner Bottles and Kilner Range
The Rayware Company purchased the name Kilner some years back and are now producing a range of Kilner Jars with the Kilner branding on which are of course very popular. Our business began many years ago now with customers asking whether we could help with the spare parts for their old Kilner jars. Fortunately we did have the answer for replacement metal sealing discs and we still do.
The Leifheit company in Germany produce their four sizes of jars and three of the sizes with the exception of the smallest twist off lidded jar take a metal sealing disc which just happens to fit all our old English kilner jars manufactured since 1945. (Jars obtained before 1945 have a much narrower neck and unfortunately we cannot help with these).
Anyhow any customers wishing to find replacement discs for their English Kilner jars can purchase the Leifheit spare discs as above. Sadly the Leifheit spare rings nor the Rayware Kilner spare parts fit the old jars. Alternatives in a similar style to the Kilner Range can be found in Jars > Preserving and Canning Jars.
